Kill us already! Shock as 300 death row convicts desperately beg President Uhuru to make sure they are killed (Photos)
Death row convicts in maximum security prisons want President Uhuru Kenyatta to sign their death warrants.
The last person to be hanged by the state was Hezekiah Ochuka Rabala. Kenya’s ‘President’ for six hours was hanged in 1987 for orchestrating the failed 1982 coup carried out by junior officers in the Kenya Air Force.
Ochuka was the only person who was killed in the ‘right’ way by retired President Moi’s government; other coup plotters died in mysterious deaths including road accidents and plane crashes.

Some 300 death row convicts now want President Uhuru to sign their death warrants. Only the President has the prerogative of giving the green light for prisoners to be hanged.
The Star reports that Judge Luka Kimaru confirmed that death row convicts wanted to die. The judge, who is the chairman of the Community Service Order Case Committee, visited several prisons to have a chat with prisoners sentenced to death.

The Star further reports that the 300 death row prisoners had given the commander in chief an ultimatum of commuting their sentences to life imprisonment or making sure they are hanged as sentenced by the court.
