After Losing It All, Former KTN and K24 News Anchor Anne Ngugi Makes an Unforgettable Comeback on Citizen TV

Anne Ngugi was famed for reading the Swahili news bulletins on KTN and later K24.

And it was at K24 where her downward spiral started after she was fired while she pregnant with twins back in 2014.

A few months down the line, life slapped her with another crisis, her husband Hypolite Nyongbia and another Congolese, Kamimbaya Soumali were accused of defrauding a Nigerian and two Koreans off 6.4 Million Kshs.

And unfortunately Anne was linked with this misdemeanor, badly marring her otherwise squeaky clean reputation. Anne revealed that she lost fiends in the media circles and was denied jobs because of this scandal.

Fortunately, thanks to Lulu Hassan and Kanze Dena, Anne made a comeback to our screens alongside her daughter Angel who has a rare condition called Congenital Hydrocephalus.Congenital hydrocephalus is a buildup of excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain at birth that can cause brain damage, mental and physical problems. People with this condition usually have a head that is bigger than normal.

The two had come to promote their new song ‘Nataka Jua’ which talks about Angels’ condition and the struggles of living with Congenital Hydrocephalus . Angel’s wisdom and self-acceptance at only 12 years of age is nothing short of inspiring.

“Ningepeneda kuwaaambia liiche ya maumbile yako jipe moyo. Si mtu alikuumba ni Mungu na alikuumba kwa mfano wake. Ujikubali jinsi ulivyo na dakika ya mwisho unavyo jikubali Mungu atakubariki.” Angel said.
