Luccia Murotto has been a tout in Nairobi since 2006, she works for Masa Sacco matatus which ply Kitengela-Nairobi route.
The mzungu tout was recently hosted on Churchill show where she shared her story and also inspired sponsor seeking girls to look for alternative sources of income.
She revealed she joined matatu industry as a tout out of sheer passion. The fluent sheng/Swahili speaking tout says her decision to be a tout didn’t go down well with her parents even though she only works on weekends.
Her take on girls looking for sponsors was simple; look for alternative sources of income.
“Kuna madem wanasemanga kazi yao ni kulea sponsor na hio ni jasho yao. Hio si jasho.” Luccia told the audience at Churchill show.
Her parting shot was; “maneno ya sponsor achana nayo”
