‘This Is An Attempt On Raila’s Life’ CORD Cries Foul After Police Keep Silent On Raila Odinga’s High Risk Car Accident

Yesterday, Raila’s offices were mobbed by youths who were led by Starehe MP Maina Kamanda among other Jubilee leaders as they ferried a bus shell they said was burnt during CORD led anti-IEBC demos.

As expected CORD leaders and supporters were up in arms over what they termed was partial application of law as well as harassment of their leader. In a strong worded press release, by the ODM Director of Communications, it was also revealed that Raila Odinga had been involved in an accident which had posed a great risk to his life.

According to the Wednesday press release, Raila Odinga’s car was struck right where he sits. The driver was arrested and later released with the police apparently keeping the incident under wraps.

The ODM camp has condemned the two incidents and their treatment terming them as an attempt on Raila’s life.  Here is part of the statement from Philip Etale

“Invading Mr. Odinga’s office is an attempt to his life. Only yesterday, a public service vehicle hit Mr. Odinga’s car right where he sits. The driver was arrested and later released. Police have kept quiet on this incident.
CORD wants to make it clear that no amount of intimidation, provocation or public pronouncements that have no constitutional bearing will stop them from pushing the government to agree to dialogue on reforms in the IEBC?”
