The ‘Lust Vegas’ Of Africa In Kampala Where Kenyan Men Can’t Resist Going #MakeItHappen

1st June was a national holiday in Kenya, so was 3rd June in Uganda. The nightlife in Kampala especially that Friday, was super thrilling for any Kenyan man in the Ugandan capital!

Free advice, if you travelling to Kampala better equip yourself with a visa credit card, that way it’s easy transacting money without being conned. Friday 3rd was Martyr’s Day in Uganda, the remembrance of 23 Anglican and 22 Catholic converts who were set ablaze on order by Buganda king.

Anyway, as thousands of pilgrims were making their way to Namugongo shrine, 5 Kenyans (me included) were in the city rummaging through the streets in search of the ideal entertainment hotspot.

Carrying cash in Kampala is a bit hectic because converting Kes 50,000 to Ugandan shillings means you will be walking around town with 1.6 million Ugandan money, you need paper bag to carry that, right?

When darkness gripped the city, we had already identified a hangout on First Street where we would drink ourselves like cats, of course, the ebony dark lovely Ugandan girls were the magnets that drew us there.

We later learnt First Street was frequented by Kenyans balling in Kampala, Club Guvnor is the ultimate partying destination in the Ugandan capital. Locals call it ‘Lust Vegas’, the pleasure capital in Kampala.

I had already squandered 66k (about Kes 2000) by the time liquor started getting the better of me. And I was running out of cash.

First stop was the nearby ATM to withdraw cash and head back to the nightclub to get wasted to the brim. I had to guzzle Ugandan liquor without the worry of money in my pockets running out.

I don’t know how I messed up with my Co-op bank debit card, it got blocked as I repeatedly entered a wrong pin. The pin always confuses me even on a sober mind, I couldn’t remember the first two digits and it messed me big time.

That’s when my Co-op Bank Visa credit card came in handy. It has the easiest pin that even a kindergarten kid can’t forget.

The pin is my birthday, who could forget when they were born?? I borrowed a cash advance of Kes 5000 from my Co-op Bank Visa credit card and headed back to the club for more drinks.

3:30am I had enough of Martyr’s Day celebration and headed back to a hotel to rest. I had blown the 5k in my alcohol state of mind enjoying quality time with Kampala lasses in the club, once again it was the Co-op Bank Visa credit card that rescued me as I only swapped and paid for the room.

Take my advice, Co-op Bank Visa credit card is a must if you are traveling abroad. If you doubt me click the link Co-op Bank Visa credit card as see for yourself.
