His name is such a household everyone identifies with. Even the self-proclaimed atheists know some of his gospel tunes like ‘Mungu Anaweza’
He found himself in a band, without a manager and struggling with an already crowded industry but still tried to break barriers to become one of the most celebrated artistes.
Kidum flies business class to perform internationally and still remains amongst the most sought after musician in functions.
He fled his native Burundi at the height of civil war that pitted his countrymen and women against each other.
Robert ‘R KAY’ Kamanzi
R-Kay might not be a show stopper when it comes to performances, but wait until it comes to music productions.He is famous not only in Kenya but in East Africa as a whole and is the most decorated music producer.
His recording label has seen many artistes, both veterans and mushrooming, rushing to his studios for a chance to record their hits.
R-Kay also allows new artistes who are still struggling with finances a chance to record for half the fee…a night and armor, huh!
Not only does he produce music, he is also a singer, a song writer and an actor. He also fled Burundi due to unending conflicts.
Solomon Mkubwa
This is one Burundian everyone thinks is Tanzanian. He spent so many years in Magufuli’s land but fate didn’t want him there and so he came to try the Kenyan industry.
All his songs have made it so big in the gospel industry and have gotten him awards. The songs are sung everywhere, from clubs to churches, in concerts, in rallies and public functions.
Yusto Onesmo
Yusto is one man that has travelled from Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania then stumbled to Kenya where his talent began.
He is not very verbal about his music, he doesn’t do international gigs but still, he has maintained a steady career in music and the gospel.
His songs include ‘Usilale’, ‘Mifupa Mikavu’, ‘Nikupenini’ and ‘Tabia Ulioanza’ among others.

She escaped the ravages of war in her native DR Congo to come Kenya where she became a dope songbird.
The hot Congolese singer moved to Sweden to further her studies and her music ambition after making it big in Kenya.
Her biggest hits include ‘Mobimba’ featuring P Unit and ‘Mpita Njia’ featuring Juliana Kanyamozi.
