President Uhuru’s Kin In A Fierce Tussle With Royal Media Owner SK Macharia
The battle of the titans! Kes 550 million is at stake as SK Macharia and Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin Ngegi Muigai are entangled in battle.
Uhuru’s cousin Ngegi Muigai blew the whistle on SK Macharia’s Sceneries Limited over a parcel of land sold to Kenya Reinsurance Corporation in July 1997 for Kes 550 million.
Ngegi Muigai is said to have filed a complaint to the National Land Commission (NLC) over Sceneries Limited’s alleged fraudulent sale of 100-acre land to Kenya Reinsurance Corporation.
NLC covertly launched investigations into the sale of the land in November 2015 after Ngegi lodged the complaint.
SK Macharia’s Sceneries Limited responded by moving to court on Tuesday to block the clandestine investigations on the sale of land to Kenya Reinsurance Corporation.
Sceneries Limited has sued NLC for initiating investigations without involving them. Sceneries Limited lawyer faulted NLC for accepting to initiate the probe into the sale of the land only after President Uhuru’s cousin lodged the complaint.

Sceneries Limited could be forced to refund Kenya Reinsurance Corporation the Kes 550 million if the court determines the fraud allegations are true.
Ngegi’s interest in the said land is not immediately established.
