Husband To Late ODM Politician Dies After Son Stabbed Him 18 Times

Cases of relatives murdering each other are becoming quite a common thing in Kenya today. 

The nature of some of the killings however, makes them shocking given the brutality and suffering the victims are taken into. A prominent doctor, Michael Amolo on Tuesday succumbed to fatal knife injuries and died days after his son stabbed him 18 times at their home. The pediatrician was the husband to the late ODM Homa Bay Chairperson Monica Amolo.

The son who shares the same name as the father and hence commonly called Dad Junior among family members attacked his father at their home after he was questioned on his decision to skip exams at the Kenya Flying School. A dejected father who is said to have tried everything to have his son change and focus on the betterment of his life is said to have been heading to the backyard of the house when the son attacked him with a knife picked from the kitchen.

DJ had locked the gate and took the keys with him which prevented neighbors from coming to the quick rescue of the doctor following the commotion. He later threw his keys outside the gate which led the neighbors in and they disarmed him, took the doctor to Mater Hospital and the 25 year old taken to Police.
