In Case You Missed It: Sonko, Jomo Gacega, Shaffie Weru And Eric Omondi Spotted In Nakuru For Sauti Sol’s Live And Die In Afrika Tour

On Saturday April 16th, Sauti Sol’s Live and Die in Afrika Tour kicked off in high standards in Nakuru at the Nakuru Athletics Club, delivering a world-class performance as part of the anticipated nationwide tour.

With gates opening at 7:00 p.m, the 2,000 plus attendees were entertained by a production that saw Nakuru music acts: Igiza Dancers and Solfamara Band open for Sauti Sol.

Kenya’s number one mcee DNG made sure that the charged crowd was entertained as he ran competitions and activations. The DJ responsible for having fans dance all night and in between music performances was DJ Kaffi, mostly playing a majority of Kenyan and African tunes.

Backed by their 8-man band and set of dancers including choreographer Chiluba and the all girl-group: GQ Dancers, Sauti Sol got on stage at around 10:00 p.m. They performed all 15 songs in the album: Live and Die in Afrika, among hit singles. High energy songs included the performances of Nipe Nikupe, Live and Die in Afrika, Unconditionally Bae, Shake Yo Bam Bam and Money Lover. Throughout the songs, the youthful crowd danced and sang along to all Sauti Sol songs, as they marveled at the spectacular production and lighting effects, managed by Homeboyz Entertainment. Sauti Sol members all got emotional. They were heard chanting repeatedly, “Nakuru you are lovely!” “ Sol Generation – This is so emotional and such a great moment for us!”
