Shock as KCSE student dies after falling from bed

Teachers and students at St Joseph High School Nalondo Girls in Bungoma County have been left in shock after a form four Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate died after she allegedly fell from her double-decker bed as she prepared to sleep.
The candidate had just revised for the Friday paper when she slipped from her bed and broke her spinal cord.
According to Bungoma Central OCPD Joseph Mwenje who confirmed the incident, the girl was rushed to Bokoli health centre and efforts by medical staff to resuscitate her failed and she was pronounced dead on Friday morning.

On Monday, a student at the Jomo Kenyatta High School in Nakuru collapsed and later died moments after arriving in school for the KCSE examinations.
The deceased parents’ had earlier taken him to hospital where he has diagnosed with hypertension.
The school’s principal later confirmed that the deceased, identified as Francis Gikonyo had been diagnosed with hypertension.
