Kenyans to suffer from lack of health care services in 3 weeks time

Kenyans will suffer from lack of critical health care services after doctors issued a 21-day strike notice on Saturday.
The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union (KMPDU) wants the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) to recognise a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) as directed by the courts last month.
Speaking during a press conference Saturday, Secretary General of the Union Dr. Ouma Oluga says the job evaluation exercise report that was released on Friday by SRC will not help doctors in their demands for a pay rise according to the CBA signed between the union and the government.
 
Oluga said.
The doctors declared that if by December 5th their salaries are not paid, all hospitals in this country will remain closed
According to the CBA, the lowest paid doctor should earn Sh342,000 while the highest should be earn Sh946,000.
The SRC on Friday released a job evaluation report that dictates that every public service worker should be paid an amount equal to the level of work they do.
