Wallabies bolster squad ahead of France clash

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has bolstered his touring party with eight new players ahead of this weekend’s Test against France, the Australian Rugby Union said Monday.
Among the additions are three uncapped players — utility back Jono Lance, scrum-half Nic Stirzaker and hooker Andrew Ready.
They join props Toby Smith and Paddy Ryan, wingers Taqele Naiyaravoro and Luke Morahan, and lock Sam Carter.
All except Lance have been playing for the Barbarians in their recent games across Europe against South Africa, Czech Republic and Fiji.
“We had always planned to bring in these players for the France week after the seven lads wrapped up with the Barbarians,” Cheika said.
“Five of the players have Test experience for the Wallabies and while it’s good to bolster our numbers ahead of the Wallaby XV game against the French Barbarians, we may consider them for selection against France this weekend.”
The Wallabies face France at Stade de France on Saturday before a Wallaby XV take on a French Barbarians side in Bordeaux on November 24.
Australia finish off their European tour with Tests against Ireland in Dublin on November 27 and England at Twickenham a week later. They have already beaten Scotland and Wales.
