What were the judges looking for? Miss USIU 2016 winner savagely trolled online for not being ‘beautiful enough’ (Photo)

A beauty pageant winner at an international University based locally has attracted scathing remarks and vile attacks online. This follows what many believed to be crowning of a lady who was not ‘beautiful’ according to the critics.
The 2016 Mr. and Miss USIU event happened on 17th this month at night at the Thika Road Mall.
From the numerous contestants who vied, David Mbehi and Nneka Enyantu Obi emerged the winners for the Mr. and Miss titles respectively.
Some onlookers were not satisfied by the results and were savage in their expression of discontent. Others even related her win to that of Donald Trump. Here are some of the harsh views.

Kenyans on Twitter are known for their harsh criticisms of beauty pageant winners who do not satisfy their expectations.
The Miss Nyamira County winner was the first to face the online trolls as many questioned whether she was the most beautiful in the contest.
In the case of Nneka Enyantu Obi, much of the blame can be laid on her make-up artist than anything else. Indeed her final triumph photo hardly got the best of her and closing her eyes did not help anything.
However, many beauty pageants judges have always stated they look for more than just beauty in the declaring of a winner. Issues like personality, ability to articulate issues as well as being well informed on matters in her community do count.
