“Some Of My Clients Have Beaten Me Up. Others Have Threatened To Kill Me!” Gay Gospel Artiste Joji Baro Opens about His Life as a Prostitute

Gay Gospel artiste Joji Baro Is pretty much an open book, and often lays bare secrets which many prefer to keep under wraps. Over the years, Joji has revealed that he has HIV, he has spoken of the ill-treatment he received in the hands of a priest and now he is talking about his life as a prostitute.

“They say every prostitute has a story. I also have mine.” He begins his riveting tale.

“Before I landed here, my journey has had ups and downs. I have been to every door and through every window trying to find where‘s my call lies. I have been on NGOs prostitution that even my clients got so confused. From one organization client to another. Some clients got tired with my services and others rejected my package offer even before I sold it to them. I simply did not fit description and profile of a typical prostitute.” He revealed.

Before continuing with “The one who drops powder in your bottle and before you know it they have made away with your wallet, car keys, passport which I probably won’t even use at the immigration office. I didn’t know fashion, while other prostitutes put nothing and stand in the cold at night I simply stepped out in full gear like Eskimo. They wanted a loyal prostitute. “

Life as a prostitute was far from easy for the soft-spoken musician “As a prostitute, I have had my own share of trouble. There are some clients who have used me and refused to pay me. Some have beaten me up. Others have threatened to kill me. I know those who have been killed by their clients over payment. I worked mostly at night during the cover of the darkness because my job is illegal. But I had another career. Music which also doubled as my hobby. When I finally embraced it, many of my former clients said once a prostitute always a prostitute. Only that I changed my kind of clients due to stiff competition. With my new clients they are not aware of protection and that I would infect them with all manner of diseases. But here I stand as a fully reformed and rehabilitated prostitute. With my own band which earn money “in the right and honest way.”
I’m not prostituting myself not even for free anymore.

You too can be liberated. It does not matter which prostitution you are chained to. You can’t keep on prostitution yourself for the rest of your life. All you have to do is identify what else you can do to supplement and seek help and trust me you will find it.”
