The annual Beyond Zero First Lady marathon has become something of a fixture on the Kenyan national calendar.

With its noble cause of reducing maternal deaths as a result of lack of easily accessible healthcare facilities to beyond zero, it keeps growing in stature and achievements. In the process, it earns its founder Margaret Kenyatta, the first lady many plaudits and fans for her verve.

This year saw Rwanda’s first lady grace the occasion with her delegation. With the president out of the country, The DP took time off campaigns to represent him. Other attendees included multiple Olympic gold medalist Ezekiel Kemboi, Boniface Mwangi and Churchill among others. Here are photos of the event
