Shock And Awe Over News That Idi Amin’s Remains Are To Be Brought From Saudi Arabia To Be Given Decent Burial In Uganda
The mad man who claimed Uganda’s border extended all the way to Naivasha could be given a decent burial after all!
Uganda’s brutal dictator Idi Amin Dada fled the landlocked country in 1978 when Tanzanian army under Julius Nyerere invaded the Banana Republic ending Amin’s 8 year rule of tyranny.
Amin sought political asylum in Saudi Arabia where he was also buried in 2003 when he died. President Yuweri Museveni rejected pleas to have the brutal dictator buried in Uganda.
But things could be different if Uganda’s former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, is elected president in the forthcoming general elections in Uganda.
Mbabazi has promised to bring back the remains of the former dictator and even build a museum in his honor all in the name of helping divided Ugandans reconcile over Amin’s legacy.
Mbabazi’s suggestion was greeted by mixed reactions on social media. Some agreed with him saying Amin’s remains would attract tourists while majority criticized the former PM arguing Amin did more harm than good to Ugandans.
