The Man Who Composed The Kenyan National Anthem Passes On In Deplorable Condition (Photo)

It’s sad to hear Mzee Meza Morowa has died, it’s shame to the government for leaving Kenya’s unsung heroes to rot in abject poverty.

Despite the national anthem being sung in almost all state functions and in international arenas especially sports, not many people knew about the man who composed the national anthem.

95-year-old Mzee Meza Marrowa Galana from Makere ya Gwano village in Tana River County, composed the national anthems ages ago borrowing the tune from Pokomo lullaby song.

The media has for a number of times sat down with the deceased to shed light on the national anthem. All the time Mzee Meza had a date with the press, the image that came out wasn’t so pleasing.

Mzee was leaving in deplorable conditions. And this was the case until he passed on days ago at Hola District hospital where he was hospitalized following a short illness.

You wouldn’t be surprised to hear the government shower praise on the deceased hero now that he is gone!

May the good Lord rest his soul in eternal peace.
