An Open Challenge To All Kenyan Fashion Bloggers! Lets See Who Will Be The First To Wear This (photos)
I have heard this term for the umpteenth time today, that Sheer, is the new black! I agree. Sheer is the new everything, it is the new black, the new sexy, the new elegant , In-fact Sheer is my new trend.
I bet you were all baffled if not blown away by Beyonce’s gown at the Met Gala 2015. Was it not, errm , for lack of a more suitable term “surreal?” But sheer is not a last night thing. According to history, Sheer has evolved overtime and can be dated back to the 3000B.C – ISee, Jesus was not even born then lest you start lecturing on morality. I can speak most certainly therefore, that, Hellene of Troy and Cleopatra of Greece gained worldwide renown by rocking sheer!
Sheer was first made into stockings and has over the ages evolved into more pronounced forms, the dresses and gowns. More like a full body stocking, albeit one that covers the sensitive regions. Beyonce and Kim Kadarshian chose sheer for the 2015 Met gala, and of-course broke the internet. So why haven’t our ladies taken this trend to heart? Fear of ridicule from the more “righteous section of humans who purport to be moral gods?”
Uhm we can all see that Kim Kadarshian outdid Beyonce (queen Bey for you) at the sheer, despite Beyonce being obviously classier than Kim. When they chose sheer, Beyonce wen’t all the way, hers was more revealing than Kim’s and that probably made it the look of the night if you ignore the Duvet that Rihanna dragged to the red carpet.
Rihanna’s Illogical dress that looked like an omelette and has been the butt of all odd jokes on social media since the gala night.
Back to sheer.
It would be interesting to see Kenyan ladies rock the new look . Especially our glorified fashion bloggers. while at it, it would be important to note that Beyonce Was not the first to rock the sheer. Here are more breathtaking sheer moments:
