Ghafla! Movies This Weekend (6th July 2012)
Great news for all the movie fans! The BIGGEST movie of the summer, the Amazing Spiderman is finally premiering in Kenya at a select number of cinemas across the city.
Any doubts over whether ‘another’ Spiderman adaptation pulling in the figures required at the Box Office were put to rest on Tuesday as the film was released at cinemas across America ahead of the country’s Independence Day holiday. The Amazing Spiderman became the highest grossing EVER for a Tuesday opening, bagging $35million (approximately Kshs. 2.9billion) and thus displacing the first Transformers (2007).
Whether Kenyans will be as responsive to Marc Webb’s repackaging will be seen as it opens today across Nairobi. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted has been the number one feature at cinemas according to Box Office International estimates, as last week’s new feature Mirror Mirror has been received with mixed reviews.
Below is the bouquette of titles you can enjoy at the theatres from the weekend of July 6th-July 12th 2012:
