Royal Media Boosts Citizen TV Undisputed Dominance With The Launch Of 4 Sister TV Stations

Both Nation Media Group (NMG) and Standard Group have sister stations for NTV and KTN. RMS entirely relayed on Citizen TV to dominate the market but this is to change soon.

Citizen TV is already the market leader with close to 50% of TV market share in Kenya. Apparently the leading media house isn’t satisfied with their market share, that’s why they are launching 4 more TV station to compliment Citizen TV.

Well, the four TV stations are the ‘extension’ of popular vernacular RMS radio stations. Yes, Royal Media is launching its first vernacular TV stations.

Inooro TV, a 24-hour Kikuyu language channel, Ramogi TV (Dholuo) Chamgei TV (Kalenjin) and Musyi TV (Kamba) are the four vernacular TV stations that RMS is launching.

Inooro TV will be the first one to hit the screens ( On 26th October) then Ramogi TV, Chamge TV and Musyi TV respectively will follow. (RMS didn’t specify when exactly they will be launched).

RMS Managing Director, Wachira Waruru, promised the 4 TV stations shall be pacesetters just like Citizen TV when they go on air.
