East African Breweries Limited (EABL), through the SNAPP brand in partnership with Ashleys on Friday 12th July hosted a glitzyshow at Safari park hotel to announce the Miss. World Kenya 2013 winner.The event saw 10 gorgeous ladies do their best to win the incredible price.
Ubah Musa 18, 2nd Year student studying International Relations Nairobi Aviation College won the congeniality award, which is an award that goes to the person who is most likeable and pleasant. All the contestants get to vote for this category. The 2nd runners up position went to Sophia Umwanzaa mass communication student at Multi Media University plus a token of Kshs.50, 000, the 1st runners up position went to Leah Tesfamariama 1st Year student in International relations and diplomacy at Maseno University accompanied by a token of Kshs. 100,000.
The lady at the center stage was 23-year-old Wangui Gitonga, a linguistic student at the German school. She was crowned Miss World Kenya 2013 and one year grooming services at all of the Ashleys salons country wide. She also went home Ksh.1M wealthier.
The Miss World Kenya pageant that is held every year as part of the Miss World competition will see Wangui Gitonga newly crowned Miss World Kenya 2013 represent Kenya in the global contest that will be held in September at the Sentul International Convention Center on the outskirts of Jakarta, Indonesia.
The special event that saw an audience of about 300 people at the Safari Park Hotel witness the finale was also graced by the Deputy President’s wife Rachael Ruto. The event also saw the winner for last year’s Miss World Kenya Shamim Nabil welcome this year’s Miss. World Kenya finalists and share motivational tips.
