Meet the Scribe without Borders

Most wordsmiths’ work stop in the newsroom, but not so for one Charles Kevin Kamau. The acclaimed scribbler has gone out of his way to give back to the society.

Kamau better known as CKK runs an online inspirational magazine and recently talked to Citizen TV’s Kirigo Ng’arua on Thursday led fellow medical students from Pwani University to treat the school going community in Kilifi County off jiggers.

CKK, who is also a member of the Rotary Club of Kilifi – the main organizers of the event, and the Pwani University students were able to attend to over 600 jigger infested kids on that day. Over 36,000 pairs of shoes were also distributed on that day courtesy of TOMS shoes in US and Kenya Red Cross – Kilifi Branch.

Over 15,000 kindergarten & primary school going kids thronged the Matsangoni Primary School grounds to benefit from the over 36,000 pairs of shoes to be distributed thanks to Kenya Red Cross Society and TOMS Shoes and those with jigger infestation received free treatment from Pwani University medical students.
