Mary Adhiambo Airo plays Nyaguthii or Mama Nyaguthii (or Mama Nyagothie depending on how sharp your ears are) in Citizen TV’s award-winning show, “Papa Shirandula”.

Mama Nyaguthii is unsmiling landlady to Papa Shirandula but somehow Papa manages to trick her and stays for over 6 months without paying the rent.

Airo who is in her late 30s started acting in 1995. She is a paralegal officer at Machakos Prison and hopes to be a child protection officer and to run a children’s home in future. Here are some of her photos when she’s not acting;
