Exclusive: Kiss TV Fires All Its Workers & Shuts Down!
Yesterday I told you how Radio Africa Group’s Kiss TV issued dismissal letters to 27 staff members after the hapless TV station made huge losses consecutively for four months. Well, it now emerges that at least 40 journalists were shown the door!
Ghafla! has received classified information that the 40 employees were summoned for a brief meeting by the Human Resources manager who was flanked by Carol Radull and immediately issued with the dismissal letters alongside their termination pay cheques.
Among the prolific journalists who were unexpectedly sacked include talented investigative journalist, Dennis Okari, whose expose, “Rape Gangs of Dandora” left the country agape. Another top talent who was relieved of his duties is accomplished actor, writer, journalist and television presenter, John Sibi Okumu (JSO).
Despite the sack, Okari stayed positive when making the revelation;
According to the anonymous source at Kiss TV, Okari was handed a terminal cheque of KSh1.4M while JSO, KSh2.5M. We are also made to understand that JSO is now going back to consultancy after being offloaded.
Meanwhile, Kiss TV will be no more in the coming days. It’s place will be taken by Blaze TV, which will be unveiled very soon. Blaze TV will be an exclusively music and entertainment channel.
This comes in the wake of the news that Kiss TV’s mother company, Radio Africa Group, has bought Kenya’s leading social media company.
Keep it here for the list of sacked journalists.
