Con Woman Places Ad on Today’s ‘Daily Nation’, Gets Busted! (Photo)
Barely a day after Gospel songbird Eunice Njeri recovered money that had mysteriously disappeared from her KCB account, yet another shocking case of sophisticated con game is being reported.
Today, the Daily Nation on page 30 bore an announcement in which the advertiser, one Ruth Wanzila Pauline, was calling on well-wishers to aid her ailing ‘son’, Master Calvin Wanzila who is suffering from Biliary atresia, a liver condition.
The advertiser goes ahead to claiming that the child needs a liver transplant costing KSh2.7million in India which the family is unable to raise and as a result ask the greater Kenyans for assistance.
To an unsuspecting reader, the advert above would pass for a medical appeal like any other but no, it’s not. Thanks to a section of hawk-eyed readers, the advertiser was immediately identified as a con lady out to swindle innocent readers’ of their hard-earned cash.
How? You may ask.
Well, the ‘son’ whose photo appears in the ad is called Laren Galloway. His parents are from New Orleans and the fact that they are both African-Americans and have produced a blue-eyed baby is amazing. Laren is an adorable African American baby with crystal clear blue eyes. Startlingly and strikingly beautiful like a crystal blue ocean.
A simple reverse image search brings up the exact image used in the ad;
May this be a caution to you all. Before donating your hard-earned cash to ‘charities’ just do a background check.
