Is This Senior Nation Journalist Trying To Start A Religious Feud After The Westgate Tragedy? Find Out What He Said Here!
Saturday was a day very few Kenyans will ever managed to put behind them. We were all affected whether directly or indirectly by the cowardly acts perpetrated by the lowest form of parasites claiming to be fighting a Holy war. And emotions have been running high since our armed forces successfully wrested Westgate from the claws of these so called terrorists.
but word was sent to us by none other than Robert Alai about a Nation Media Group senior employee who seems to have allowed himself to be swallowed by his emotions. The man, Phillip Ochieng who runs a column in the Sunday Nation recently tweeted what could potentially turn into an explosive statement:
Following the #WestGateAttack I call for the government to #BanHijab in public places.
What I am personally wondering is why the man who is a self confessed atheist would seek to blame culture and by extension religion for the acts of these cowardly terrorists playing toy soldier.
It was not Muslims who perpetrated the heinous attack on Westgate, it was cowards misguided in their belief. As a religion, Islam stands for love and peace, not war. It was 10-15 cowards, not an entire religion that attacked Westgate.
From Uncle Chim Tuna to Phillip Ochieng, atheists are usually objective individuals who seek scientific evidence for everything. Temper your words so you do not condemn us to religious hostilities simply because your emotions ran high.
Actually, issue an apology!
