Meet TPF6 Contestants (Photos)

After the long wait, TPF6 finally kicked off Sunday with 18 contestants from the 6 East African countries (Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda).

The brand new show was unveiled with a brand new Academy Principal, Eric Wainaina with the same old judging panel. The c contestants were then pitted against each other to fight for the 15 slots that were available for the academy.

At the end of it all only 15 made it into the house. Here they are;

1. Bior – South Sudan

Bior seems rather unassuming, but once he starts to talk, his clear accent and his shy gaze makes him very endearing. The first born child of his mother, Bior’s mother is the2nd wife. Bior lives in Uganda and is studying to be an accountant. Bior started singing back in 2004, but he didn’t get too into it since music in South Sudan doesn’t have a truly developed sound yet. But Bior believes this is his chance to shine and make something happen for his music in South Sudan and East Africa.

2. Undercover Brothers (Kirya and Mulungi) – Uganda

Mulungi’s dream started long before Tusker Project Fame 6. Forming ‘Undercover Brothers’ after taking part in another music competition back in Uganda, Mulungi and Kirya have been performing together for the last three months.

As for Kirya, he is the number 5 in a family with 9 children. His musical talent is the only way he could stand out in such a big pack and Kirya has stood out strong. Joining forces with Mulungi for ‘Undercover Brothers’, Kirya started his musical journey and he hasn’t looked back since then. His dream is to perform to millions of people and meet his role models.

3. Sitenda -Uganda

 27 year old Forensic Scientist, born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, Sitenda is a songstress who has spent 5 years in the UK, studying to be a forensic scientist. But her love for music led her in a different direction. Her family, by her own admission probably want this just as badly as she does. Sitenda would love to go far in Tusker Project Fame 6, and she would use any fame that she gets (or possibly the money she gets when she wins) to help children who don’t have someone to stand up and represent them. With anavantegarde sense of fashion and an outlook to match, Sitenda wants to take each day in the Academy as they come, but she promises to leave it all on the stage.

4. Phionah – Rwanda

Phionah, a 26 year old student in Uganda is representing Rwanda. She fills the space with a wonderful warm energy when she enters the room. The second born of a family that is pretty big, Phionah is not only part of a big family, she is also a single mum. Phionah is raising her 3 year old daughter Leila all on her own. So strength is something that Phionah has in bucket loads. Honesty is also very big for her, and she believes that she can make it all the way to the semi-final.

5. Patrick – Rwanda

 He is 27 year old, University Student (Final year), representing Rwanda. Growing up in Kigali, Rwanda, Patrick comes from an average family. The last born son of the family, Patrick has learned to be independent over time.  Patrick loves to give love but also loves’ to give love. Describing himself as a bit of a mad lover, he is open to it, but will not chase it. His priority is singing. Patrick enjoyed his audition since it was a challenge, but he believes that he can go all the way this time around. And Patrick is looking forward to being in such close quarters with so many talented artists and so many exciting Faculty members.
