GHAFLA EXCLUSIVE: Churchill Show’s Sleepy’s Elder Brother Allegedly Among A Gang Of Thieves Gunned Down

When I got the call giving me this exclusive, I was gobsmacked! I had no idea whether to believe the story or not. But after digging up for details, it emerged that it was true. However, all the sources I spoke to have elected to remain anonymous on this one.
We all know him as sleepy. He is one of the funny young talents on Churchill Show who has really stood out and it is rather unfortunate that the first time I am covering him, it’s a rather sad story.

Yesterday, word went round that some gangsters had been gunned down in Buru Buru after having carjacked a motorist. Well, it has emerged that one of the gangsters who died in the fierce exchange with the police.
This is how the story was covered by Standard Digital:

Four suspected thugs were Sunday night shot dead in a botched robbery incident in Jam Rescue area, Buruburu, Nairobi and a pistol recovered from them.

Police said they also recovered a BMW car that the gang was using after they stole it from the owner.

According to the Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue, the gang used the car to carry a 24-inch television set that they had also robbed from a homestead in the area.

“We are investigating to know if the same gunmen are the ones who were behind a series of robberies that were reported in the area,” he said.

The 8.30 pm incident caused panic in the area as revelers in the nearby entertainment joints scampered for safety as police opened fire.

Witnesses said they saw undercover police in unmarked cars race to block the BMW before a shooting ensued as the occupants tried to get out and escape.

“The shooting was fierce for one to stare at but I saw people try to run away,” said Achieng Mutua, a resident.

According to Kibue,  the gang was from a robbery mission and was escaping when they were confronted and that a fifth suspect managed to escape.

The car was later driven to the Buruburu police station after the bodies were taken to the mortuary.

Police have mounted operations in the city to curb rising crime rate that is getting out of hand.

Cases of armed robberies have been on the rise with most gunmen targeting public service vehicles. The gunmen pose as passengers before striking.
