Lupita Nyong’o Scoops More Awards in Hollywood
It’s officially awards season for Lupita Nyong’o and I’m sure her trophy case should be running out of space having earned numerous awards and honors for what she does best. And now as Kenya marked her 50th birthday, miles away, one of her daughters received recognition for her role on screen.
On 12th December, the African-American Film Critics Association (aafca) named Lupita the ‘Best Breakout Performance’ at for her role in ’12 Years A Slave’ with the movie being named the film of the year.
The ceremony honoring this year’s winners will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, Calif.
Established in 2003, African-American Film Critics Association is the longest-standing critics body for black film journalists in U.S.A.
Meanwhile, Lupita has been nominated in 2014 Golden Globes Awards in the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. She’ll be facing it off with Julia Roberts (August: Osage County), Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle) and June Squibb (Nebraska).
It’s now safe to say that it has been an amazing year for Lupita Nyong’o.
