Teacher Kilunda of Tahidi High Charged in Court for Drunk Driving; Pleads with Judge Not to Jail Him

More than 100 motorists were Monday arraigned in a Nairobi court for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The motorists failed the breathalyzer test at roadblocks mounted on Nairobi roads over the weekend, reports The Star.

Among them was Tahidi High’s Teacher Kilunda (TK Kitana). The Star adds that he pleaded guilty to the offence and in vindication told the judge that he was remorseful and that he won’t repeat the offence again.

Kitana admonished the judge to release him on the 20,000 bob cash bail instead of putting him behind bars for six months. The presiding judge, Senior Principal Enoch Chirchir released him on the cash bail with a warning that if he doesn’t pay he will be jailed for 6 months.

He was flanked by fellow actor and teacher at Tahidi High, Mr Karimi, to give him moral support.
