Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe Joins the Miniskirts-in-the-Church Debate. Here’s what He Opines
I’ve been reading postings about women and young girls wearing clothes that expose their ‘valuable assets’ to Church. The latest was very shocking as a Ghanaian pastor, Dr. Mensa Otabil, advocating for the church to allow women to bring mini-skirts to church.
“Let them come with their short skirts”, Dr. Otabil urged the Church, “and let the Holy Spirit begin to work on them”.
Well, closer home, it appears this is also becoming a trend. In fact if you want to see a thigh-revealing minis or a figure-hugging tube in its rightful size and colours, your local church would be the best place to start off. Such is the fashion craze in churches today.
Worried by this trend, Citizen TV’s Kiswahili Managing Editor and Anchor, Swaleh Mdoe, has broken his silence over the matter. Swaleh wonders out aloud about Kenyan ladies’ dressing for church.
Kenyan ladies are an interesting lot. They go to work in jeans. They go out for dinner/disco in jeans. But they go to church in Mini-skirts.
