Lupita Nyong’o On The Ugandan 50,000 Shilling Note

It would seem that long before the story was even whispered about Lupita Nyong’o’s birth, some East African visionaries saw fit to dare to dream. And dream dreamt was woven and it crept stealthily, and found form in the realm of the tangible. Whomever it was who was tasked with creating legal tender for the young East African republics did a job that can only be described as “inspired”.

 

And so it was that before Lupita was ever cast in the role of a slave in the movie 12 Years A Slave, the scene from the movie was already woven upon tapestry that was to be used as legal tender.
From Kenya’s 200 shilling note to now it seems Uganda’s 50,000 shilling note.
