NTV, KTN, QTV And Citizen Will Be Back On Air As From Tomorrow But Sorry…This Is What You Need To Watch Them

The four major TV stations will be back on air as from tomorrow after close to a month-long switch off to protest the alleged harassment from the government over digital migration.

NTV, KTN, QTV and Citizen TV have announced that they will resume broadcasting as from Thursday 6:50 p.m after being unavailable since February 14, 2015.

The three media houses that own them had switched the TV stations off to protest hurried migration to digital broadcasting, with their management arguing that they needed more time to have their own set-top boxes from which they can air their content freely.

Finally, after days of blackout, the four TV stations will be on air and through digital broadcasting but our first apologies go to the people outside Nairobi because they will not be able to watch their favourite programs. This is because the TV stations will be broadcasting specifically on digital platforms.

With Nairobians, there is a reprieve but not as you would want to imagine. You are likely not to watch the TV stations because they wont be available on the decorders you have.

Instead, they have revealed that they will only be available through:

To watch NTV, QTV starting tomorrow Thursday 5th 2015 at 6:50pm, ensure you have either:

– A free to Air DVB-T2, MPEG 4 compliant set top box
– Or an Integrated digital TVs (idTVs) which are digital TVs with inbuilt DVB-T2 tuner.

– Or DVB-T2 USB dongles which are digital receivers used to receive digital TV signal on computer /laptops.

You do not have to pay monthly to watch free to air TV stations.

Do you have any of theses set-top boxes? Well, if not, you have to acquire one to be able to watch the four TV stations.
