Mzee Ojwang Now Regains His Eyesight, Leaves Hospital After Successful Operation (Photos)

Veteran Vitimbi actor Benson Wanjau aka Mzee Ojwang is now a happy man after gaining his eyesight following a successful eye operation late last week.

The veteran actor had been taken to hospital by Nairobi Senator after he lost his eyesight amid living below the poverty line despite working for the State-owned KBC for close to four decades as an actor.

The country was raged after media houses highlighted the deplorable conditions under which Ojwang lived, with many castigating the government for neglecting people who have diligently served this country for decades.

Kenyans teamed up under the hashtag #OkoaMzeeOjwang to chip in for the veteran actor’s rescue alongside Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko who first broke the news of Ojwang’s ailment when he rushed him to hospital through his Sonko Rescue Team.

And now the senator has broken the news that Ojwang is a happy man after regaining his eyesight following a successful operation.

Through his facebook page, Sonko has shared photos of Mzee Ojwang leaving the hospital with a smile, accompanied by other actors.

The government is still under heavy scrutiny despite CS Fred Matiangi saying that KBC paid the Vitimbi actors all their remuneration.

Matiangi has also been ridiculed after he suggested that Mzee Ojwang did not invest the money he got from KBC.
