EXCLUSIVE: Veteran Journalist Alex Chamwada Set To Make A Comeback On TV With Show Of His Own

It was late last year that veteran and one of Kenya’s most decorated TV journalists, Alex Chamwada, called it a day at Citizen TV after serving as the most established and vastly experienced journalist in the SK Macharia-owned TV stations.

Alex tabled his resignation letter when he was on the peak of his career that spans over two decades of active journalism.

Well, nobody knew why he resigned but he gave his reasons among them being venturing into independent content production. And now it seems Chamwada has lived up to his word as word reaching Ghafla indicates that he is about to make his comeback on TV very soon.

Alex has indicated through his social media accounts that he is intending to be on air with a brand new show, The Chamwada Report Show, which looks into current affairs issues.

Chamwada has already put up a facebook page for the show which he calls The Chamwada Report and a you tube channel for the same:

Chamwada describes the show as a weekly current affairs show coming soon on your screen, produced by CHAMS Media. It will be presented by veteran Kenyan TV journalist Alex Chamwada. It will be in a magazine format, presented on location, complete with stories that transform lives. The show will focus on development and governance. It will be about you and with you! It will be a game changer!

Ghafla Kenya contacted the journalist for word over the show and he indeed confirmed that he will returning to air with the show any time soon.

Which TV station will your show be aired?

“You will know very soon when everything is put in place but for now I have no comment on the same because I am still finalizing on some things before the show airs”, Chamwada told Ghafla.

We are, however, left to speculate whether Chamwada will be appearing on his immediate former TV station, Citizen TV or his other previous stations KTN and KBC because of the close ties he has with the three media houses.

Chamwada was recently invited as a judge for KTN’s presenter show and this indicates his ties with the Standard Group-owned TV stations.

He is also believed to have left Citizen in good faith and therefore there are chances that his show may be considered.

All we can do is wait and see where the reputable journalist makes his grand come back.
