This Is Why DSTV Subscribers Will Have To Pay More As From Today

Digital migration has taken the country by storm and as the date for total switch off draws closer, Kenyans are on the run to acquire set top boxes to comply with global regulations.

However, as more and more players are getting into the industry to make life cheaper and easier for Kenyans, Multichoice’s DSTV has revised its prices for DSTV subscribers.

Announcing the changes today, DSTV has said that the increase is necessitated by increases in the business operational costs such as satellite costs, channel costs, as well as the devaluation of currencies against the US Dollar.

“In determining a price increase, MultiChoice takes into account many factors including the impact on the subscriber, current inflation, and efficiencies effected within the company that may offset the necessity for a price increase. Unfortunately, it is necessary to implement a price increase on an annual basis due to rising costs to the business. Our pricing reflects the cost of doing business and the necessary return on capital in order to ensure a world class, reliable and sustainable pay television service'” DSTV says.

“At MultiChoice we strive to continuously improve our services and product offering by providing our subscribers with the best home entertainment and viewer experience supported by great subscriber management services,” they added.
