Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK)’s Francis Wangusi Booted Amid Jeers From The 3 Media Houses He Had Running Battles With Over Digital Migration

It seems time for the man behind the battles between the three major media houses on the land and the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) over digital migration is up at the authority.

Francis Wangusi is remembered for his tough tackles against the three media houses following the digital migration saga that saw four major TV stations go off air for a record three weeks to protest what they said is harassment and forced migration from the government.

NTV, KTN, Citizen and QTV shut down to protest Wangusi’s stance, only to resume broadcasting after reaching an agreement with the authority.

And now it seems Wangusi’s days as the Director General of the CAK are over after the government advertised for the position.

Wangusi holds that position.

The media houses which faced Wangusi’s wrath are already rejoicing his departure which is not very clear. Whether Wnagusi has been booted or retired is a topic for another day.

One celebrated journalist has posted his joy at the idea that Wangusi is leaving his post as the Director Genaral of the CAK.
