New Artist Solexx Set to Change Gospel Music

Martin Mwangi better known as SOLEXX GENGE (born 2 sep 1991) is a Kenyan urban gospel music artist who released his first track (NOT A DAY) back in 2009. The track was a bongo style production by a popular Mombasa based producer, Totti of KAY G RECORDS.

Solexx performs in a wide array of languages including Swahili, English, his native Kikuyu and Sheng in a popular Kenyan style of rapping: GENGE

EARLY LIFE
Solexx was born in Karatina county in Nyeri to ESTHER and MOSES KAMAU who were both secondary school teachers. He grew up in a strict christian home and began singing at the age of 13. 
Solexx attended IHIGA PRIMARY SCHOOL in karatina (class 1 to 3) then the TRINITY SCHOOL MARAGUA (class 4 to 8) he joined KIAGUTHU BOYS SECONDARY SCHOOL where he was the ‘RNB King’ together with fellow genge artist ALA-C GENGE. The musician is currently a media arts student at SHANG TAO MEDIA ARTS COLLEGE.

MUSIC CAREER
His first recorded track was (NOT A DAY) released in 2009 and in 2010 he released another track (Banjuka gospel anthem) which drew him closer to achieve his dream as the track was a major hit in most parts of Muranga and Nairobi.

In July 2011, Solexx released a 7-track album titled GET LIFTED, which in its first month of release, sold over 600 copies. 
Solexx has toured most towns in Kenya, as early this year he toured Uganda for the first time,
