Celebs Speak Out on What They Think About Homosexuality

It seems American President Barrack Obama has opened a whole can of worms again with his public support for gay marriage in his country, with reverberations felt across the world with a multitude of mixed reactions even right here in Kenya.

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights for instance took this opportunity to continue the push for the acceptance of homosexual marriages in Kenya but the National Council of Churches came out strongly against the move.

“We are concerned that the direction the debate has taken is that of the recognition of homosexuality and prostitution which are against African beliefs and more so our Christian beliefs” argued NCCK Secretary General Peter Karanja in a press briefing on May 11th 2012.

Television stations have also joined the bandwagon of debate, with KTN previously airing a feature called ‘Muffled Killers’ about homosexual prostitution as well as NTV having a discussion on their morning show about the issue just this week.

One FM have gone a step further today approaching some celebrities on the Drive Show with Adelle and asking them their views on homosexuality, and here were a few of the responses:

Avril – I draw the line on personal choices, I respect everyones personal choices

Big Pin – Ai! I don’t support gay marriages!

J’Mani – I have my reservations about it but I’m ok with it

Holy Dave – Its obvious I don’t believe in them.I love women, women should love men. Guys think it’s cool but there’s nothing cool about it

Wawesh – It’s either or. Some things are up to the individual. It should be up to every individual how they want to live their life

Other artistes who commented on the issue included Nick Mutuma and DNA.
