Ray C is Not Dead, Confirms Her Mother

Ray C went through an unfortunate ordeal in Kenya where she seriously got into drugs to the point she had to be moved back to Tanzania for rehab and treatment. Read about that here.

A few weeks after arriving in her hometown, rumors surfaced that the one-time biggest female musician in the region had died. The rumors were never confirmed and today they have officially been denied.

Ray C’s mother was interviewed by Citizen Radio’s Willy M. Tuva on his Mambo Mseto show and confirmed that the singer is alive and responding well to treatment.

“Nasikitika kusikia maneno hayo. Sijui ni akina nani wanaongea na kusema vitu ambao hazipo. Sijui hizo habari zimetoka wapi. Yuko vizuri, anaendelea na matibabu. Anakula vizuri, anapata usingizi vizuri. (I’m disappointed to hear that, I don’t know who is spreading those lies. I don’t know where the rumors came from. She is fine, still on treatment. She is eats fine, she sleeps fine).”
