KenRazy Explains How His Girlfriend Stopped Him From Participating in ODM’s Mass Action

The Wasanii Wananchi appeared on Radio Jambo this morning to create awareness about their campaign. The group of artistes will go round the country and interacting with citizens on a personal level and engage them in peace-builidng activities.

As they plan to go to Jerusalem to interact and play football with their fans like they did in Mathare, they shared their own post-election violence stories like Eko Dydda and Octopizzo did before. This time it was KenRazy, who told his story to illustrate the importance of women in stunting violence.

“Hiyo time ya post-election, dame yangu alikuwa Kibera. Kuna project alikuwa anafanya, alikuwa anakaa na watoi fulani anawasaidia. Mi vile nilisikia watu wa ODM wanadai watu watokee wafanye rally fulani nikamwambia nataka kuenda. Alijam sana. Juu ye ndio alikuwa huko ndani anaaona vile vitu zinarushwa, ana-imagine tu. Na saa hiyo mi nilikuwa tu nataka kucheki niaje. After hapo mi hata sikutoka.

(During the post-election period, my girlfriend was in Kibera. She was involved in a project where they’d help kids in need. When I heard ODM was calling for a rally, I told her I would attend. She got really mad. She had seen what was happening and could only imagine what might happen. I just wanted to go see what’s up. After that, I didn’t even leave.”
