Youngest Host to Scoop a Radio Presenter of the Year Award in Kenya Eyeing another Accolade

Born in Kikuyu, Kiambu County 25 years ago, Lawrence Thuku is probably the youngest ever Presenter to win a Radio Presenter of the Year Award in Kenya after scooping the 2011 Mwafaka Award.

The Deep Voiced Truth F.M Presenter shocked many after winning the prestigious award as he was up against Presenters from more established stations at the time such as Milele F.M, Homeboyz Radio, Ghetto Radio and Hope F.M.

Lawrence, well known as the host of Gospo Switch, which airs on 90.7 Truth F.M every week day from 1PM to 4PM is also an experienced News and Sports Presenter. Undeterred by his age, he is also the Head of News at the country’s first Christian Radio Station 96.7 Biblia Husema F.M. which Broadcasts in Swahili.

For the third year in a row, Lawrence who has been one of the major contributors of the current success of Gospel Music has been nominated in the Radio Presenter of the Year Category in the Mwafaka Awards 2013.

On the Gospo Switch Show, the Award Winning Presenter has given a platform to artistes such as Eko Dydda, Jimmie Gait, Gloria Muliro, Juliani, D.K kwenye Beat, Ringtone, Alice Kamande, Mercy Wairegi, Chuchu, Hey-Z, Hopekid, Eunice Njeri among others.

In August 2011, he won the prestigious Radio Presenter of the Year award beating off stiff competition from renowned Radio Personalities. You can help him take home this accolade this year too.
