Mediamax is Not Yet Done Poaching, It Now Goes Straight for Top Talent at Radio Jambo!

The Mediamax Network is among the leading corporates with media interests in Kenya, with several Kenyan vernacular radio stations, the News Television, K24, Milele FM and most recently Mayian FM. However, the media house has also set a record for orchestrating one of the most famous ‘media genocides’ in the industry.

And now, a month after dismissing over 70 staff members, the Uhuru Kenyatta-linked media house has gone on a shopping spree. This week, Mediamax’s subsidiary, Millele FM, ‘raided’ Radio Africa Group’s Radio Jambo and made away with one of its most prolific football commentator, Fred Arocho.

Arocho has been with Radio Jambo for almost 5 years and even as he departed from 2nd floor of Lions Place, he was grateful to the RAG management;

I would like to thank the management of Radio Africa group for giving me the opportunity to serve at radio jambo for nearly 5years. As i make a move, may the Almighty God bless my steps. Amen.

Arocho officially goes on air from next week at Milele FM where he will be will be giving results on Monday morning shows, analysing fixtures on Friday evening shows and joining the commentary team of Torome Tirike, Peter Kirumba and Paul Muchesi.

Ghafla! wishes him Godspeed as he takes up the new assignment.
