Former Influential ‘Buzz’ Editor Implicated in Car & Cash Theft!

The year is 2007; mention ‘Buzz’ magazine and the first bell to ring was Adhyambo Odera and vice versa. Yes, that’s how powerful the voluptuous ‘Buzz’ editor was. Somewhere along the way though, she just fizzled out of the limelight after leaving ‘Buzz’.

And now, The Nairobian is reporting that Adhyambo Odera, now into PR, was Wednesday charged at Milimani law Courts, Nairobi, for allegedly stealing a B14 Nissan Sunny salon car belonging to one Pharnel Oruko on August 25. The court also heard that Adhyambo together with her accomplices also stole KSh200,000.

Chief Magistrate Dolphine Okundi released her on a KSh200,000 bond pending the mention of the case.

This comes barely two days after Jackal News asserted that Adhyambo had conned Belgium-based Kenyan singer, Catherine Achieng’ aka Ms Sunshine of 1,200 euro (Ksh140,000) and a B14 Nissan saloon, on pretext of helping her publicize and coordinate her visit to Kenya.

Apparently, Achieng’ had given Adhyambo the money to co-ordinate her PR during her visit to Nairobi and Adhyambo was expected to place Achieng’s stories in the local newspapers – very few of which she did – as well as organise TV and radio interview, none of which she did.

The car in question is Achieng’s sister and was to facilitate the Belgium-based artist’s movement around Nairobi before it went missing and Adhyambo stopped picking calls.
