TPF Judge Ian Reveals Why He Puts Contestants Who Rap on Probation
Last week it was all about Muthoni the Drummer Queen’s all-African playlist, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as South Sudan’s electrifying performer, Bior, got the axe from Tusker Project Fame 6, that was Saturday evening.
Last night, the dreaded probation nominations came back into play, and it was Kenyan duo, Amos & Josh, who sung themselves into probation on Sunday evening when they were named as the next act to sing for survival, among others.
The duo turned in a lively rap rendition of Ice Prince’s hit “Oleku” – but it wasn’t quite enough, despite praise from the judging panel. Judge Ian Mbugua, who saw nothing exciting from the performance didn’t shy away from telling off.
Ian who is known for his stance on rapping shoved Amos & Josh into probation something he had previously done with Bior.
This morning, the firm TPF judge has explained why he’s not for contestants rapping. Here’s what he opines;
“My understanding is TPF is a SINGING competition. That is why we do not allow rap during auditions. Why then should we allow it during the shows? Tafakari #TPF6”
The Kenyan duo is one of the most talented contestants in the Academy and their presence in probation seems to divide the Kenyan vote into half as yet another contestant popular among Kenyans, Fess aka ‘King of Probation’ is on the chopping block this week.
Just who will stay and who will be going home?
