Dancehall Artist Proff Set To Release His Debut Album

Proff is one of the most underrated Kenyan performers there are and especially in the widely popular genre of Dancehall which has been dominated by Redsan for decades. Kenyans do not seem to wasnt to embrace young talents on the rise.

 

But Proff has somehow managed to remain relevant and has been releasing song after songwith many going on to become hit singles. The lad has now decided to focus on a different feather for his cap: an album.

The Kenyan “Africana” singer Proff is set to launch his debut album SIKU NYINGI which will comprise of some of his big hits such as “data” and “niambie”. The title of the album Siku Nyingi symbolizes Proff’s metamorphosis as an artist, his journey and different life experiences. Ranging from his music career, love and spiritual formation.

Proff announced his entry into Kenya’s music scene when his single ‘data” became a huge hit consequently getting on heavy rotation among radio stations in the region.

The artist describes his genre as “Africana” which is a blend of Afro and dancehall music. Proff whose real name is Steve Onyango will also embark on a national tour to promote his upcoming album.

The album will comprise of about 20 songs which will include old and new hits 8 of which have already been released and already getting massive airplay. The album has been produced courtesy of Herbal Records under veteran producer Maich Black. Some of the songs already released include, Kidogo, Upendo featuring K Tisa.

Other artists who have been featured in the “Siku Nyingi” album include gospel rapper Juliani, Wyre the love child , rapper K Tisa and Antoneosoul.
