Dennis Itumbi Takes A Dig At Jaguar For Getting An Appointment From His Employer (President Uhuru)

Yesterday President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed singer Jaguar as a board member of the government agency dealing with drug use and abuse, NACADA.

The most philanthropic singer in Kenya got the appointment following his close relationship with the head of the state, and many have taken to the social media to praise his appointment to the post.

However, it seems the Director of Digital Communication in the office of the President, Dennis Itumbi, is harbouring a different opinion concerning the appointment of Jaguar and others.

It can be remembered that Kenyans have vehemently opposed the appointments, with many crying foul that all the president did was to recycle political rejects and reward his political cronies with the state jobs.

This perhaps explains why Dennis Itumbi quickly moved to cool down the situation by giving an excuse that board member positions are not meant for youths because they don’t rack in enough money. Instead, Itumbi was simply saying that the people appointed for the jobs deserve them because they no longer need money.

Here is what Itumbi posted on his Facebook page:

Okay guys lets talk – who are Parastatal Board Members? Is it an ideal job for our generation, energy and creative?

My take and I may be wrong on this one, board members sit a few times a year, are NOT NECESSARILY paid a salary and instead pocket sitting allowances for the board meetings.

But I may be wrong, let me listen to you….a sincere engagement ‪#‎GOKInteracts‬

However, it is now turning out that his statement may be haunting him as among those who were appointed for the position include singer Jaguar, who is a member of the Nacada board.

Jaguar is a youthful singer below the age of fourth and even though Itumbi did not mention him and others in the youth bracket, his statement can be taken to mean Jaguar and his colleagues do not qualify for the position.

The singer hasn’t said a word since his appointment.
