DJ Ruff is an alumnus of Starehe Boys Centre. How many alumni of Starehe Boys Centre do you know have embraced ‘DJ’ying and  music with great passion? You will definitely find almost none.

After completing his high school studies having joined Starehe from Kirinyaga Primary, DJ Ruff was admitted at the University of Nairobi where he studied a degree in Economics and Statistics.

It was after his degree that he landed a lucrative job where he earned a 5-figure salary. But his love for the decks and passion for music and desire to inform saw him ditch the job and join Ghetto Radio as a presenter and a DJ.

DJ Ruff trained at Spin Rej DJ Academy and worked with System Unit alongside DJ Mo. He would later break up to work with Ghetto Radio where he has since impressed so much that he won the best Dj award at the Xtreeme Awards.

This year, DJ Ruff is at it again. His genius has not gone unnoticed. He has been nominated for the groove awards and for him this is another achievement of a lifetime. Who wouldn’t want to win such an award after working his way to the top?
