Recently,a section of disgruntled Kenyan artists staged a rare protest outside Nation Centre to call for more airplay of local music on Kenyan stations. The argument has always been that Kenyan Music lacks quality(and it’s true to some extent) and that explains our insatiable desire for foreign music.

But maybe… We need better music,better videos,better artistry,better video vixens,better production and better composition to finally appreciate our music right!? OK! And that’s exactly what Afrikanation a Kenyan pop group is doing ; Offering quality music and with music videos that are truly off-the-hook.

After hitting you with ‘Baby Boo’, some beautiful love jam recorded at the Number Nane Studio by the legendary music impresario ‘Barbz On The Track’,and with a superb video done and directed by Ogopa Deejays,Afrikanation has come back with something even bigger and better… And no,this time,they went BIG! As in big budget,big beats,big bums,big production and even bigger swag.

The song itself,which is already causing ripples across the Country and which has already been previewed and played heavily on the KTN show Str8 Up Live,is called ‘Down Low’. And brutha,it’s going down! For real!

What stands out in the song in actually the video…Shot by veteran music director Mushking FX who has in the past worked with big names like Juliani and Muthoni Drummer Queen and Wangechi,it goes on to show that Afrikanation, which comprises of Dennis Githiora a.k.a MojaMbiliWantwo and Allan Ochoro a.k.a Ruch Senior are pretty dead serious about reviving the Kenyan Music scene and enforcing the law that KENYAN Music is worth it’s salt.

The video is a dangerously hot… Shot in beautiful club locations (featuring some really expensive champagnes) it starts off with some drop-dead gorgeous mama who quickly reminds you of the You Guy-era Vera Sidika. Boy,the mama’s got ass! Like a seriously crazy ass!

And if you thought that that was THE ONLY mama with some phat booty in the whole video, then you’re dead wrong… The video features around 6 other Brazilian-style vixens whose skill at shaking that bam bam will leave you drooling…

From start to end,the video is really a thirst trap… It starts with a thunder and ends like a hurricane. There’s not a single dull moment; From the bombastic damsels to the booming beat to the beautiful locations and the impeccable lyricism,the video will leave you thoroughly entertained and desperately begging for more.
