STL Is The Reason Why You Want To Buy Kenyan Music. Sample This Jam If You Doubt
Stella Mwangi boasts of conquering two countries in two different continents. She is a sensation in both Kenya and Norway thanks to her music.
STL Mwangi aka STL is the real definition of pure talent. I fell in love with her songs the moment I heard ‘Take It Back’ and ‘Hula Hoop’ featuring Mohombi.
One thing I like about her is her ability to spit vibes in different languages and still be able to appeal to you even though you are clueless of what she raps.
She still has razor sharp vibes even when she raps in her native ‘Kikuyu’. The 28-year-old rapper nailed it in a new song she was featured.
Raj featured the Norway-based rapper to drop ‘Obe Baba Remix’, a contemporary vernacular song that got folks at Ghafla! Office nodding their heads in approval.
The concept is purely Kenyan, there was no aping American swag in the video. Even though I didn’t get a word, the song swept me away.
Perhaps if Kenyan musicians try building their own identity instead just ‘copying’ Americans, Jamaicans and Nigerians, they could as well conquer the vast international market!
